Everyone makes mistakes. You might spill your coffee. You might back over the mailbox. Maybe you forgot to attach a cover sheet to your TPS report. Some mistakes are bigger.
Like allowing George W. Bush to run our country. For eight years.
Iraq is a mess. The Federal Government is larger than ever. Our “constitutionally protected” freedoms are shriveling on the vine. Our national debt is spiraling out of control. The dollar has lost half of its value. Our energy policy is in direct contradiction to our national security interests. Our government is toppling itself with unbridled greed and corruption. These things are not mistakes. They are hubris. They are incompetence. They are selfishness. Bush is hitting his lowest approval ratings, ever, and for good reason. However, our long national nightmare will soon be over. We have the presidential elections in 2008, and (barring a military-backed coup) Bush’s last day in office is January 20, 2009.
January 20. 2009. Mark it down. On that day, we will have a party. It will be the largest party the world has ever seen. You are invited, and you’re invited to invite all of your friends.
